Ballast Point Park No. 2
Ballast Point Park or Walama is on the newly reclaimed Caltex oil site on the Sydney Harbour foreshore at Birchgrove. Many remnants of the old industrial site remain, including a section of a concrete bund wall. In taking a series of night images in the park, I was interested in the eerie and distinctive view of the harbour through this bund wall. The park has a complex history from the time of white settlement to the struggle by residents to stop commercial development at the site.
