Lingua Marina No. 1- 2004
The photographs in Lingua Marina feature the patterns in the sand formed by tides and small molluscs. I had been interested for some time in capturing the sand texture and colour and tide lines following the tide’s advances and retreats. In this solo exhibition at Gallery East I recorded the slow toil and mark making of the mollusk artists in the sand.
