In 2005 I undertook a photographic project exploring the beauty and darkness of decaying fruit, recording the stages of decomposition and the weirdness and beauty of their forms and textures. I was influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of “wabi-sabi” where the closer things get to non-existence, the more exquisite they become.
